The Royals scored a late equalizer in their 2-2 draw with Exeter City at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Tuesday night.
Former Royal player Piers Sweeney put Exeter ahead and Will Keane equalized just before half-time, scoring his first goal for Reading. Paudie O’Connor restored Royals’ lead but Luca Woodhouse scored in stoppage time to secure a point for the visitors.

Points put us in 13th place. Here’s what Royals owner Leam Richardson had to say in an interview with Royal TV.
Richardson draws
“I’m disappointed with the players – I thought we worked hard enough to get more out of the game.
“[The late equaliser] It was probably the first time all night that we jumped out of our structure without the ball, and it cost us. Sometimes it’s the details, because this is such a good level, and sometimes you need those moments to work for you.
“I’m really disappointed for the players because for the hard work they’ve put in in the last two games, they probably haven’t gotten their due. The positive is we’re unbeaten, scored four goals and we’re looking forward to another game on Saturday.

“[Exeter] Probably one of the teams in the best shape, going well. I thought we had almost zero limits on them. Those two goals, the set piece and the deflection, I feel for the players because they work hard every day and show it on the pitch.
“There are real positives there and there are some new players learning on the job. We’re putting personnel in because we didn’t have a preseason to build it out there. I think there’s a lot of positives from my game here and we’re looking forward to it.”
Richardson on his evolving squad and Will Keane’s first goal
“The most important thing about Will and his attributes is that he has a very strong finishing position, as you can see from his one-touch finishing.

“He’s been rested for a while so we’ve got to get these lads up to speed and manage our way through the schedule. There were a lot of good individual performances and overall we had good value tonight.
“We have quality on the pitch and in the squad. We need to keep developing and moving forward and making demands on each other.
“If you put any kind of run together you find yourself in a really good position. We live in the moment. We want to perform well here and now and most importantly at Northampton on Saturday.”
