OR 58 eastbound is the latest highway to be partially closed on December 19 due to extreme overnight weather. Record rainfall has caused high water levels and ground movement.
OR 58 is restricted to one lane 16 miles east of McCredie Springs at mile marker 61 due to a snow-related crash. The Oregon Department of Transportation said to expect delays of up to 20 minutes, consider using alternate routes if possible, slow down and watch for emergency personnel working in the area.
High water, downed trees, landslides and flooding are creating road hazards on several Oregon highways. In addition to OR 58, Lane County drivers should also be aware of:
A landslide on December 19, 2025 closed OR-501 south of Alsea, the Lane/Benton County line.
-
High water on OR-36 1 mile west of Cheshire. The highway remains open, but travelers should drive slowly and be prepared for delays of up to 20 minutes.
-
OR-501 is closed at the Lane/Benton County line due to a landslide 8 miles south of Alsea.
-
Drivers leaving Lane County heading south should carry chains or tow tires in anticipation of high water conditions on Interstate 5 around the Lane/Douglas County line.
