The Los Angeles Lakers have a total of 506 players playing for them throughout the 2024-25 season, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some are forgettable, some are serviceable, some are good, and some are downright legendary.
In the 80th season of the Lakers franchise, founded in 1946 as the Detroit Gems, LeBron Wire is taking a look at every player who has worn one of their uniforms, whether it’s the purple and gold or those from their early days in the Midwest.

In 2018, the Dallas Mavericks signed 6-foot-5 guard Shake Milton from Southern Methodist University with the 54th overall pick in the NBA Draft. He was quickly traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and by his second or third season in the league, he began to become a spark plug off the bench.
During the 2020-21 season, he averaged 13 points in 23.2 minutes per game and received some minimal votes in the voting for the Sixth Man of the Year Award. At the beginning of last season, the Brooklyn Nets sent him to the Lakers along with No. 3 forward Dorian Finney-Smith in exchange for guard D’Angelo Russell, wing Maxwell Lewis and three future second-round picks.
He played 30 regular season games on behalf of the Lakers, averaging 11.5 minutes and 3.9 points per game. This season, Milton plays for the Serbian professional basketball team Mozart Bet Partizan.
