It’s safe to say that Cologne head coach Lucas Quasniak is pleased with forward Ragnar Ashe. Just 15 minutes later, Ashe opened the scoring for the home team with a beautiful bicycle kick. Hoffenheim’s Oliver Bowman could only watch as the ball whizzed into the net.
Hoffenheim eventually fought back to draw 2-2, but that didn’t make Archie’s goal any less special.

“All I wanted to see today was the title: Ragnar Arch – King of the Sky,” Quasniok said at the post-match press conference.
It was his fifth goal of the Bundesliga season and his fourth in his last six games. Only Said El Marra has scored more goals for Efze, and Ashe, who came on as a substitute at the start of the season, has become a key player for Quasniok and Cologne.
“He’s come a long way and is an integral part of the team,” Quasniok said.
Ashe joins in July 2025 after spending two seasons with Kaiserslautern in Bundesliga 2. However, he found playing time hard to come by as Cologne initially used Marius Boult in the top role.

However, Archie has worked his way into the starting eleven. He scored his first goal for Evse in the German Cup in October, although Cologne lost 4-1 to Bayern Munich. A few days later, the striker scored his first Bundesliga goal.
His strong form continues into 2026. Ashe has scored four goals this year, including twice in a crucial game against Mainz, before scoring against Stuttgart and now Hoffenheim. Overall, he has six goals and six assists in all competitions this season.
It doesn’t hurt that some of the goals were spectacular. His goal against Hoffenheim will not be quickly forgotten by Cologne.
“The Goal of the Year vote is now somewhere around second place,” Quasniok said.
