After the Knicks lost 116-107 at home on Friday night, Brown questioned the many calls missed by the referees.
“Officers, they have a tough job,” Brown said. “But I don’t know if I can understand what a foul is and what isn’t a foul.”
Brown was not happy with the way Knicks forward OG Anunoby was officiating. He said the defender initiated contact on Anunoby’s drive but no foul was called.
“OG is a big, strong guy,” Brown said. “When he drives… he tries to attack the rim. His route keeps changing, but he can’t seem to get the call. I think his aggressiveness is there, he just can’t get to the free throw line.”

Anunoby had a rough night, scoring two points on 1/9 shooting in 32 minutes. Brown was pleased with Anunoby’s mentality, but said he was unable to get into an offensive rhythm due to missed calls.
“OG had some nice plays from the 3-point line,” Brown said. “I thought he was aggressive on the break. He didn’t get any calls.”
New York had a memorable shooting performance, shooting 39/88 (44%) from the field and 8/32 (25%) from three-point range. The Knicks also committed 18 turnovers. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns each scored 22 points, and Mikal Bridges scored 21 points on 9/16 shooting.
Tyrese Maxey performed well for the 76ers, scoring 30 points and dishing out nine assists in the returning lineup.
