Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Launch Brought Up by a Week, Will Release on February 4

Warhorse Studios’ medieval role-playing game Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will now launch a week earlier than its previously confirmed release date. The game was originally scheduled to be released on February 11, 2025; the game will launch on February 4 on PC, Xbox Series S/X, and PS5. The developer also confirmed that KCD 2 has become Gold Edition, which means development of the game is “more or less” complete. Warhorse will also release a new trailer for the RPG game on Thursday, along with specs for PC and console platforms.

KCD 2 new release date

Warhorse announced the new release date in a video update on Wednesday. “Kingdom Deliverance 2 will officially launch on February 4, 2025,” Warhorse global PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling said in an update. “You may ask why? Simple, so you can start 2025 with the best game possible.”

However, the likely reason for the earlier release date is to give Kingdom Come 2 some breathing room within the February 2025 game release calendar. There are a number of big announcements this month, including Civilization VII on February 11, Assassin’s Creed Shadows on February 14, Oath on February 18, Yakuza: A Pirate Like a Dragon launching in Hawaii on February 21, and Monster Hunter: Wild on February 28.

In the update, Warhorse also confirmed that work on KCD 2 is nearly complete. “KCD 2 is also now gold… which means the game is more or less complete. We are now in the final stages of optimization and bug fixes,” Stolz-Zwilling said.

Warhorse also announced that it will release a new story trailer on Thursday along with PC and console specs for the game. The studio confirmed that the role-playing game will be enhanced for PS5 Pro and will offer quality and performance modes on Xbox Series X and PS5, supporting image quality and frame rate respectively.

“Kingdom of Heaven: Deliverance 2” will be released in April 2024, with a trailer released and preliminary plans to launch in 2024. In August, Warhorse announced that the game would be delayed, confirming a February 11 release date.

As a sequel to 2018’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance, this role-playing game will continue Henry’s story in war-torn 15th-century Central Europe. “In this engrossing sequel, players will travel across a meticulously crafted medieval landscape, from the humble confines of a blacksmith’s shop to the grandeur of the royal court, while navigating a kingdom torn apart by civil war,” Warhorse parent company Plaion said in a press release at the time of launch.
