The semifinal round will be played by the No. 1 seed Kentucky volleyball team as the Wildcats prepare to face No. 3 seed Wisconsin in the NCAA Final Four on Thursday, December 18 at 9:00 pm ET at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
Kentucky has been dominant throughout the NCAA Tournament, including a 3-0 sweep of Wofford, a sweep of Cal Poly in the Sweet 16 and a sweep of Creighton in the Elite Eight. The only set they dropped was in the Round of 32 against UCLA. Other than that brief hiccup, Kentucky controlled the game from start to finish and remains undefeated at home this season.

Wisconsin arrives in Kansas City after beating No. 1 Texas in the Elite Eight. The Badgers exacted a measure of revenge against the Longhorns, who handed Wisconsin one of four losses during the regular season. Kentucky was responsible for Texas’ other two losses, beating the Longhorns in both the regular season and SEC tournament championships.
Thursday’s game is also historic for the big blue nation. Wisconsin ended Kentucky’s men’s basketball team’s perfect season with a 38-0 record in the 2015 Final Four, denying the Wildcats their undefeated national title.
Now, Kentucky volleyball has a chance to write a different ending against the Badgers on the sport’s biggest stage.
If the Wildcats advance, they’ll face the winner of the other national semifinal, in which No. 1 seed Pittsburgh (which actually handed Kentucky a regular-season loss) will face No. 3 seed Texas A&M, which the Cats defeated in College Station.
