NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Kendall Coyne-Schofield scored in overtime off a brilliant assist from Tyler Hayes and the Minnesota Frost beat the New York Sirens 3-2 on Friday night.
Hayes faked a shot and fired the ball into the goal, diverting it for Coyne Schofield. Coyne Schofield’s scoring total reached 14 points this season, and Hayes dished out his 10th assist, four of which have come in the past two games.

This is the first of five regular season meetings between Minnesota (5-2-2-3) and New York (6-0-1-5). The Sirens posted a 3-2-1-0 record against Minnesota last season.
Heise’s first assist to Britta Curl-Salemme opened the scoring with 11:05 left in the first period, following a turnover by the Serens goalkeeper. It was Cole-Salem’s fifth goal of the season and his league-leading 14th point. Cole Salem has scored in 10 of 12 games this season.
Kelly Pannek gave Minnesota a 2-1 lead just 35 seconds into the second period with a power shot, her fifth goal of the season. Coyne Schofield assisted.
Casey O’Brien’s jailbreak goal tied New York at 1 with 2:49 left in the first period.

Taylor Girard tied the game at 2 with a career-high fifth goal at 4:04 of the second period.
