Kamario Taylor injury update: Mississippi State QB carted off with gruesome leg injury

The Mississippi State football team lost to Wake Forest 43-29 in the Duke Mayo Bowl on Friday, January 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Bulldogs’ focus now shifts entirely to the health of starting quarterback Camarillo Taylor.

The 6-foot-4 true freshman quarterback was carted off the field with an apparent leg injury during an 11-yard scramble at U.S. Bank Stadium at 1:52 of the fourth quarter. According to ESPN, he was carried off the court with a towel over his head and was clearly in pain.

Wake Forest took a 14-point lead in the game after Ty Clark’s 62-yard touchdown run before he was injured on a drive.

Taylor was carted off the game late in the fourth quarter with an apparent calf injury after being tackled by Wake Forest’s Ladarius Webb at the end of a quarterback scramble.

Mississippi State medical staff cared for him for several minutes before loading him onto a cart for further evaluation. When he was loaded into the car, the entire Bulldog team came out to greet him, even though he was able to stand up on his own.
