Joe Rogan condemns Donald Trump’s comments about Rob Reiner’s death: ‘There’s no justification’

Joe Rogan has condemned Donald Trump’s “not funny” comments about Rob Reiner following the death of the filmmaker and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, earlier this month.

In a recent program The Joe Rogan ExperienceThe 58-year-old podcaster called out the president’s comments and imagined how people would react if former President Barack Obama talked about someone’s death in the same way.

“The Rob Reiner thing is not funny,” Rogan said. “When you look at it without empathy, it’s hard to like.”

On December 14, Renner, 78, and his wife Michelle, 68, were found dead in their home in Brentwood, California. Their son, Nick Renner, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his parents.

The morning after the Lehners died, Trump claimed in a Truth Society post that Rob died because “he suffered from a paralyzing mental illness known as ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome,’ sometimes referred to as ‘TDS,’ leading to the outrage of others.”

He continued: “[Reiner] It’s no secret that he drives people crazy with his overwhelming obsession with President Donald J. Trump, and as the Trump administration exceeds all great goals and expectations and as America’s golden age approaches, his apparent paranoia reaches new, perhaps unprecedented, heights. May Rob and Michelle rest in peace! “

On the podcast, guest Sean Gillis admitted that he hopes Trump will “apologise” for his remarks, but agreed with Rogan that he won’t.

“Listen, what he did doesn’t make any sense in a compassionate society,” Rogan responded. “It’s no different than the people celebrating when Charlie Kirk was shot. It’s the same kind of thing.”

Gillis noted that this is what “troubled me” about Trump’s comments. “It’s like Obama tweeted, ‘RIP,'” he added.

The two then began spitting what it would be like if Obama ever made similar remarks. “Imagine if Obama tweeted something about someone after they died in this way,” Rogan said. “This guy is a crazy person who hates Obama.”

He continued, “It just goes to show you how crazy the way Trump thinks and talks. It’s like, this guy got chopped up by his kid, you know? Anyone who doesn’t see that is like, ‘Fuck, man.'”

Gillis replied: “It’s the worst.”

Rogan noted that the whole situation is “crazy because Rob Reiner has made it his mission to try to remove Trump from office.”

Lehner is a lifelong Democrat who is fiercely opposed to the Trump administration. He has previously called the president “mentally unstable” and accused him of “treason.”

Gillis said Lehner’s political comments were “terrible” but that Trump didn’t have to get involved. “You were murdered by your son next to your wife? That’s the worst thing that could have happened,” he added. “Then the president…”

“Okay,” Logan replied. “It’s a crazy thing.”

Rogan noted that he was “very disappointed” with Trump’s comments in the wake of the tragedy. “It’s so disappointing,” he admitted. “It’s like why… if you say it privately, it’s one thing, it’s crazy, too, but it’s so disappointing.”

The podcaster later noted that Trump shouldn’t “put anything out” and that someone should take his “fucking phone.”

Rogan and Gillis are not the only ones to express displeasure with Trump’s comments on social media. Actors Josh Gad and James Woods, musician Jack White, host landscapeLate-night host Jimmy Kimmel and politicians from across the aisle condemned the president’s comments.

But that didn’t stop Trump from doubling down on Lehner during a White House press briefing. “Well, I’m not a fan of his at all,” he said. “As far as Trump is concerned, he’s a deranged man.”
