The Los Angeles Lakers are starting to get a little healthier after seeing several key players get injured over the last two weeks or so.
Starting center Deandre Ayton will return to action Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns after missing the Lakers’ last two games with elbow soreness. Austin Reeves will also return after missing Los Angeles’ last three games with a calf strain.

Luka Doncic (leg contusion), Rui Hachimura (groin soreness) and guard Gabe Vincent (back strain) are still out, but according to head coach J.J. Redick, both Doncic and Hachimura are practicing daily, which means they could return on Christmas Day against the Houston Rockets. Vincent will be tested on Christmas Day.
Los Angeles has been plagued by injuries on and off so far this season but still has a 19-8 record. Currently ranked fourth in the Western Conference, 1.5 games behind the second-place San Antonio Spurs. This shows that the team is building a healthy culture and mentality that has been lacking in past seasons, especially ahead of Redick’s arrival in 2024.
