Jimmy Kimmel Warns Trump Is ‘Making the Same Mistake’ as Biden

late night host jimmy kimmel warn the president Donald Trump He ‘made the same mistake’ as the former president Joe Biden — who blames him for the economic “mess” he “inherited” — expects voters to ignore “the price of apples” and believe his claims that the economy is “great.”

The president on Tuesday sought to restore Pennsylvania’s economic narrative, a growing concern among voters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

During the 90-minute speech, Trump celebrated falling costs and “America is winning again” under his economic vision, while also talking about how voters should stock up on certain goods ahead of the holidays.

“You know, you can give up certain products. You can give up pencils,” he said. “Your daughter doesn’t need 37 dolls. Two or three is fine, but you don’t need 37 dolls.”

Speaking to the audience Wednesday night, Kimmel took direct aim at the president’s remarks to “MAGA loyalists,” telling him he sounded a lot like his predecessor, whom he despised and blamed:

He told the MAGA faithful who couldn’t make ends meet that their children didn’t need so many dolls or pencils. He said, “All you need are a few dolls and a pencil or two.” The man who decorated the room in gold thinks your child has too many pencils at school. His strategy seems to be to keep saying things are great, which, by the way, is the same mistake that Joe Biden makes.

You can’t just tell people the economy is doing well when they’re paying more for everything. We know how much things cost. People look at the price of apples with our eyes and you tell us not to look at it.

“He wants us to be a bunch of ‘invisible’ people,” the host joked, pronouncing it so close to “Nazi” that the audience almost laughed at it.
