Vice President J.D. Vance reportedly sent out Hanukkah party invitations that read “Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Christmas,” an apparent oversight.

Deutsch noted that this is not the first time the White House has mentioned Christmas in celebration of Hanukkah.

In November 2008, an invitation to then-President George W. Bush’s Hanukkah reception included an image of a Christmas tree.

Bush’s press secretary Sally McDonald apologized for the error, which she described as a “staff error” and noted that staff failed to produce multiple cards for various holiday events.
