Vice President J.D. Vance reportedly sent out Hanukkah party invitations that read “Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Christmas,” an apparent oversight.
Reporter Gabby Deutch noticed the holiday chaos. jewish insiderwho shared a photo of the invitation on Wednesday.
“The Vice President and Second Lady kindly request that your company host a Hanukkah reception at the Vice President’s residence,” the invitation read. The event is scheduled for Dec. 15.
Above it, in large letters, read: “Golden Noel,” followed by “Celebrating 50 Years of Christmas at the Vice President’s Residence.”

Deutsch noted that this is not the first time the White House has mentioned Christmas in celebration of Hanukkah.
In November 2008, an invitation to then-President George W. Bush’s Hanukkah reception included an image of a Christmas tree.
Bush’s press secretary Sally McDonald apologized for the error, which she described as a “staff error” and noted that staff failed to produce multiple cards for various holiday events.
A spokesman for Vance did not immediately respond to a request for comment. independent.
