Jaylen Brown and the Celtics rallied late in the game to beat the feisty Suns in impressive fashion on Monday night.
Brown had his sixth 40-point game of the season, scoring 41 points to help Boston beat the Suns 120-112. A stellar scoring effort made Brown the game’s “biggest” player in the Celtics’ win Monday. The All-Star forward did most of his damage in the win at the free throw line, setting career highs in free throw attempts made (19) and attempts (21). He saved his best performance in the fourth quarter, scoring 18 of his 41 points and hitting 10 of 10 from the free throw line.
The Suns tried a variety of different wing defenses against Brown, but none could slow down the star, as fans at TD Garden chanted “MVP” for Brown multiple times in the fourth quarter. Brown’s relentless attack in the paint paid off, helping the team fight back from four points down in the final five minutes to end the game on a 14-2 run.
Brown also led the team in rebounds (seven) and assists (six) in the win, helping Boston to its second straight home win. The Celtics make it three straight wins when they take on the Warriors at TD Garden on Wednesday night.
