Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet will undergo a medical at Liverpool ahead of a £60m move to Anfield, but the centre-back will not join the club in the current transfer window.
If the transfer is completed, the 20-year-old will join the Reds in the summer after the two clubs agreed a transfer fee of 55 million pounds and 5 million pounds in add-ons.

The France U-21 international will sign a five-and-a-half-year contract until the summer of 2031, with the option to extend for a further year.
Chelsea are understood to have held talks with Jacquet during the winter window, but it is understood they will not match Liverpool’s bid.

Jacquet came through the Rennes youth academy and has made 18 appearances for the club this season. A series of outstanding performances have made him a target for some of Europe’s elite teams, with Liverpool viewing him as a long-term investment.
