Ireland will return to Eden Park to face New Zealand as part of next year’s inaugural Nations Championship.

Ireland face Argentina, Fiji and South Africa in the November window.

Ireland have visited New Zealand rugby’s spiritual home four times previously, losing all four games. Their most recent trip ended in a 42-19 defeat in the 2022 Test series opener, followed by historic wins in Dunedin and Wellington.

New Zealand’s unbeaten run in 52 Tests at Eden Park dates back to July 1994 when they lost to France.

The first edition of the biennial 12-team tournament includes six rounds of matches in the summer and autumn Test windows before a “finals weekend” at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham from November 27 to 29.

After each team plays the other six teams in the opposing hemisphere once, they will be ranked within their own hemisphere.

The weekend’s final in London will begin with the sixth-placed team from the northern hemisphere taking on the team from the southern hemisphere, with the two group winners battling it out for the title.

The outcome of the finals weekend will also affect the North and South overall scores and the championship.
