With the Cherries quickly turning around after their 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, Illaura said it was “difficult to have the same starting eleven” against David Moyes’ Everton.
-
Bournemouth midfielder Ben Gannon-Doak, who last played for the Ella in November 2025, will start this week after sustaining a hamstring injury while on international duty for Scotland.
-
Regarding Gannon-Doak’s injury, Illaura said: “He was a little late, especially a little later than Taylor.” [Adams] and taft [Marcus Tavernier]. He started running alone this week. It’s an injury we don’t want to take any risks with because he’s a very young player. Not only do we need him for these games, we need him for many years. Now it’s March when we can start thinking about him. “

Illaura said he was “excited” to visit Hill Dickinson Stadium but expected the game against the Toffees to be “tough”. “I’m looking forward to visiting the stadium and seeing the atmosphere,” Ilaura said.
-
Speaking about Everton, Illaura added: “I hope we can get to that level because they are in a very good moment and it will be very demanding. Sometimes it is difficult to play against them defensively, they are so solid. They are very strong at set pieces and they have three defenders leading in aerial duels. I hope we can control the game and not give them too many opportunities to threaten our penalty area.”
-
Bournemouth defender Adrian Truffaut has made 58 overlapping runs this season, the most in the Premier League, but Illara says his next “challenge” is to add more assists to his game. “He has a lot of presence in the final third and the volume is always there. It’s a similar situation with Milos [Kerkez]. He came a lot and didn’t get an assist,” Illaura added.
