New Delhi: The friendship between Indian batting star Virat Kohli and pacer Ishant Sharma is well known. The two have a long-standing friendship, having played together in Delhi since childhood and later playing for India. Every time we meet, it brings back wonderful memories. The two caught up during the IPL 2026 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans, embracing each other warmly, joking and enjoying a light-hearted moment.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Ishant can be seen wearing a Gujarat Titans jersey with a bib over it, standing next to Kohli near the boundary rope. The two chatted happily, talking and laughing.
Ishant is a part of the Gujarat Titans while Kohli continues to represent RCB in IPL 2026.
However, the match also witnessed dramatic and controversial moments centered around Kohli. After a controversial catch by Jason Holder led to the dismissal of RCB captain Rajat Patidar, he was seen questioning the fourth umpire.
The incident occurred during a crucial phase of the first innings when RCB were looking to build a solid platform.
In the eighth over, Patidar, who was batting at 19, tried to pull the ball to speed up the scoring. Holder reacted quickly, diving forward to take a low catch as Kagiso Rabada closed in, almost causing the two fielders to collide.
Replays seemed unable to determine whether the ball made contact with the ground. Despite the uncertainty, the third umpire upheld the decision after review and Patidar was dismissed.
The decision left Kohli and the RCB camp visibly upset at a crucial moment in the game.
Gujarat Titans defeated defending champions RCB by four wickets.
GT bowled out RCB for 155 in 19.2 overs and then chased the target in 15.5 overs. Shubman Gill (43 off 18), Jos Buttler (39 off 19) and Rahul Tewatia (27* off 17) led the way with the bat.
Despite the loss, RCB remains second in the table with 12 points, while Gujarat Titans are fifth but moved up to 10 points with the win.
