Naughty Dog’s next game, Galaxy: Prophets of Heretic, was revealed at the 2024 Game Awards, but the Sony-owned studio hasn’t shared any updates on the action-adventure game since. Fans were expecting to see more of the upcoming games at The Game Awards 2025 next month, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. The wait for Interstellar may also be longer. According to multiple industry sources, the game will not be released in 2026.
“Interstellar” reporter Jeff Grubb said in an article in “X Sunday” that “Interstellar” will not release a new trailer at next month’s Game Awards ceremony. Grubb was responding to comments from PlayStation insider Colin Moriarty, who said he believed the game might appear at the event.
Grubb said that Interstellar will not appear at the 2025 Game Awards and claimed that the game will not launch in 2026.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier backed up Grubb’s claims in response to a Reddit thread discussing Star. “I can guarantee you that Interstellar will not be released in 2026,” he said. “I can guarantee you that Interstellar will not launch in 2026 because people familiar with the game’s development timeline tell me it will not launch in 2026.”
Naughty Dog and Sony have yet to confirm a release date for Interstellar: Prophets of Heresy. The game is being developed for PS5.
StarCraft: Heretic Prophet details
StarCraft: Heretic Prophet released a trailer at the 2024 Game Awards. This sci-fi action-adventure game is Naughty Dog’s first new IP in more than a decade. Following the game’s release, the studio confirmed that it has been developing the game since 2020.
The game will tell the story of bounty hunter Jordan A. Mun, who ends up stranded on Sempiria, a distant planet where communications were paralyzed hundreds of years ago. As Jordan, players must survive threats on Earth and attempt to escape its orbit. Naughty Dog said that Interstellar will feature the “deepest gameplay” in the studio’s history.
The Game Awards 2025 is scheduled to take place on December 11. The annual event will be held live at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and broadcast worldwide. The show will celebrate the best games of 2025 and will feature a slew of gaming announcements and reveals.
