Is Friday night a preview of Saturday night’s Heisman Trophy ceremony?
Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza won the Maxwell Award for Player of the Year and the Davey O’Brien Award for Best Quarterback the night before becoming a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. To say Mendoza is the Heisman favorite would be an understatement.

As of Friday night, Mendoza was -2000 at BetMGM to win the Heisman Trophy. If you’re unfamiliar with betting odds, you’ll win 50 cents on your $10 bet if Mendoza wins the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night.
So far this season, Mendoza has completed 226 of 316 passes for 2,980 yards and 33 touchdowns as Indiana is the only undefeated team in college football’s top league. Mendoza leads the nation in touchdown passes and is second in total touchdown passes with 39 as Indiana becomes the top seed in the College Football Playoff after defeating Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game.
