Starting Thursday, nine high school football state champions will be crowned in Tennessee.

The 56th annual Tennessee High School Athletic Association football tournament, also known as the BlueCross Bowl, kicks off Thursday and runs through Saturday. All nine championship games were played at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga.

Thursday’s championship games will be played in Classes II-AA, II-A and II-AAA.
In II-AA, Franklin Road Academy takes on Battlefield Academy. Then, later Thursday, one of the nation’s top quarterbacks will play his final high school football game. Jared Curtis, who recently signed with Vanderbilt after abandoning his original commitment to Georgia, and his Nashville Christian (11-1) teammates faced Jackson Collegiate Academy in the II-A finals.

One of the nation’s top running backs will be in the spotlight Thursday night in the II-AAA championship game. Chattanooga Baylor takes on Brentwood Academy, led by junior standout David Gabriel Georges, one of the most highly recruited running backs in the nation in the Class of ’27.
There are three more games on Friday, with the final three championship games scheduled for Saturday.
