The Michigan State University field hockey team will continue to build on its momentum Saturday night at home against the University of Minnesota.
The Spartans defeated the Golden Gophers with relative ease in Friday’s series opener and will now look to sweep their rivals in Saturday’s two-game weekend series. Saturday’s game between Michigan State and Minnesota will be the second of four regular-season games this year, with the Spartans traveling to Minnesota later in the year.

Michigan State enters this matchup with a 19-5-0 overall record and a 9-4-0 Big Ten record. The Spartans have won seven of their past eight games and trail rival Michigan by four points in the Big Ten Conference.
Minnesota is looking to get a much-needed win on Saturday to get things back on track in a disappointing season. The Golden Gophers are 8-15-1 overall and 4-9-0 in the Big Ten and are currently riding a five-game losing streak.
