Five-star Archbishop Mitty senior McKenna Woliczko, a 6-foot-2 Iowa signee, returned from a torn ACL on Friday and scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in just 14 minutes to help her team beat Clovis 82-44.
Woliczko was recognized as the 2026 National Player of the Year as a freshman and sophomore at Mitty. She led the Monarchs to an undefeated start, a Nike TOC championship and a unanimous No. 1 national ranking before going down with an injury on January 4, 2025.
Archbishop Mitty is a four-time CIF Central Coast Section Open Champion and Northern California Section Champion. Even after Voliczko was injured, the Monarchs still won four straight conference and regional titles and ended the season ranked No. 12 nationally. Before the injury, the two-time Nike TOC MVP was averaging 22.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting 59% from the field.
Woliczko is ranked No. 6 overall in the Class of 2026 by ESPN SportsCenter NEXT and 247Sports. She is also a two-time gold medalist with Team USA and was named to the All-Star Five at the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup.

Archbishop Mitty started the 2025-26 season with a 9-1 record and a third-place finish at the Nike TOC before Wolichko returned last week. Mitty’s only loss was by three points to eventual TOC champion, No. 3 Bishop McNamara, who is currently ranked No. 5 nationally and a legitimate national title contender. Wolichko’s strong return gives the Monarchs a prime opportunity to reach heights never before reached in the program’s storied history.
Here’s video of how Wolichko watched her final season of high school basketball before heading to Iowa State.
