We were so annoyed by these ads that we decided to disable them all. This tutorial will help you remove all ads in MIUI on your Xiaomi smartphone. We tested it on MIUI 9.6 on a Redmi 6 Pro, but these steps should work on all smartphones running MIUI 9.

How to remove Xiaomi MIUI system ads

If you log in via a Xiaomi account, there is a way to significantly reduce system-wide ads. These ads appear when you open certain preloaded apps and appear in the widgets that appear when you swipe left on the default home screen. Please follow these steps:

1. Go to set up > Additional settings > Authorization and revocation.

1. Open Xiaomi browser.
2. Click on the three vertical lines (aka the hamburger icon) in the lower right corner.
3. tap set up.
4. tap notify. Turn it off.
5. Return to previous page. tap Privacy and security.
6. Disabled now Recommended for you.
7. Go back to the previous page and click advanced.
8. Click now Popular website orders and disable receive recommendations.
9. Go back to the previous page and click Set start page.
10. choose custom.
11. Enter the URL of any website e.g. https://www.gadgets360.com. tap OK.

This complicated dance around the Mi Browser settings menu is to ensure that it doesn’t spam you with notifications and to get rid of the default Mi Browser start page, which has several ads that are almost impossible to remove. The next time you open Mi Browser, the new default start page will be loaded.

4. Disable Show recommendations.
5. You will see a pop-up stating that if you do this, you will not be able to view recommended sources. tap OK Because no one wants to see these ads.

Even the Xiaomi Music app isn’t immune to the advertising treatment. Here’s how to get rid of intrusive ads:

1. Open Xiaomi Music.
2. Click on the three vertical lines (aka the hamburger icon) in the upper left corner.

4. tap Advanced settings.
5. Disable receive recommendations.

1. Open any application folder on your Xiaomi smartphone.
2. tap name of folder.
3. Disable Promote application.
