How to Download and Watch Amazon Prime Video Movies and TV Shows Offline

The new era of streaming services in India is great for movie and TV lovers, but poor network connectivity may hinder their efforts. The good news is that most popular services allow you to download these videos to watch later. Whether you want to download a movie or show overnight to watch the next day, or you want to download something to watch on a flight, you can find the right option.

We’ve written about how to download videos on Netflix in the past, and today, we’ll walk you through the same process on Amazon Prime Video. The whole process is pretty simple, although there are a few things you need to know.

First, you can only download videos to your smartphone or tablet. It is compatible with Android and iOS, but you cannot download videos to your laptop. Second, you can download up to 15 Prime titles at one time across all devices linked to your account. Finally, the download can only be viewed for a limited time, after which you will have to update the file by connecting to the Internet. This period varies by title.

With this in mind, you need to follow the steps below to download videos from Amazon Prime Video on your Android or iOS device. The steps work the same for both.

1. Connect your device to the Wi-Fi network and open the Prime Video app.
2. If you want to download files over mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, first swipe in from the left and go to Settings.
3. Here, you have to turn off downloading over Wi-Fi just by clicking the switch.
4. Now, find the title you want to download and click on it to open the details page.
5. On the details page you’ll see download button. Click the button to start the download.
6. You can now choose video quality – you have four options, from “Best” to “Data Savings.” Amazon shows you how much space a 1-hour video will take up at each level so you know how much space you need. For reference, at the highest quality, 1 hour will require 0.46GB, and at the lowest quality, 1 hour will require 0.12GB.
7. If desired, you can also scroll to the bottom and set the quality of your choice as default.
8. Now that the download has started, you will see Pause download button on the details page to pause the download, you will see Download options button.
9. If you click Download optionsyou can change the video quality, pause or cancel the download by clicking these options in the menu.
10. Once you’ve downloaded your movie or TV show, just open the menu again and tap download View the list of downloaded videos and click the file to return to the details page where you can click Watch now button, or delete the file.

Of course, the files you download can only be viewed using the Amazon Prime Video app, and are saved in a way that prevents you from copying them and viewing them elsewhere to prevent piracy.
