WhatsApp is finally letting people send and receive stickers to each other, a feature other messaging apps added a few years ago. This new development brings exciting possibilities – the ability to create your own WhatsApp stickers. There are many ways to create WhatsApp stickers, but the easiest is to download an app that allows you to create stickers quickly. We managed to create a WhatsApp sticker pack in less than five minutes on iPhone and Android, so the process was very simple.
Before proceeding, it is important to note that the best way to create a custom sticker pack is mentioned on the WhatsApp website. WhatsApp provides some sample apps where you can make some basic changes and submit them to the App Store or Google Play to make them your own WhatsApp sticker creation apps. However, this isn’t a practical option for most people, so we’ve gone through all the steps the easy way and listed them below.
Note that these third-party sticker-making apps work fine, but we don’t know much about their origins and whether these apps abuse any permissions you grant. We’ll think twice before granting third-party apps access to your entire photo library, as this can be abused. If you agree, follow the steps below to create your own stickers for WhatsApp.
How to create WhatsApp stickers on Android
Follow the steps below to make your own WhatsApp sticker pack on Android.
- Download the Sticker Maker app on Android.
- tap Create a new sticker pack.
- Name the sticker pack and add the author’s name in case you want to get credit for creating the stickers.
- You will see 30 tiles on the next screen. Click on any of them and then you can click Photograph, open galleryor Select file Select a picture. The first option lets you take a photo, the second option opens your photo library, and the third option lets you select an image from the file manager.
- The next step allows you to cut the picture into shapes. You can choose one of the Freehand brushwork (Manually draw shapes and cut stickers), cut squareor Cut circle.
- When you’re done cropping, click yes save stickers.
- After adding three stickers, you can click Add to WhatsApp. Once added, you will see a confirmation message on the screen.
- Now open WhatsAppclick Emoticons Icon > sticker icon at the bottom. Now you will see that the new sticker pack is the last one in the list of sticker packs.
- To delete a sticker pack, click the sticker pack > three points Icon in the upper right corner > delete.
How to create WhatsApp stickers on iPhone
Follow the steps below to make your own WhatsApp sticker pack on iPhone. The app we’ll be using is a beautiful photo editing app that makes it really easy to create WhatsApp sticker packs for free.
- Download the Bazaart app on your iPhone.
- Open the app and click start new or Open photo.
- Now you can use the app’s tools to create stickers. You can easily cut it into shapes, add dialog boxes, and more with Bazaart’s screen tools.
- When finished, click share icon and click WhatsApp.
- If you want to get a sticker pack, the app will ask you to add your name. Then, on the next screen, tap Add to WhatsApp.
- This will add your sticker to WhatsApp. Click sticker icon In the form where you type your message. Your stickers will appear here.
- Bazaart also lets you update sticker packs easily. Just repeat steps 2 to 4 above and you will see a new screen asking if you want to update or delete the sticker pack. tap renew Add more stickers to your bag.
Bazaart is a free app on iPhone, with most features requiring a monthly fee. Creating WhatsApp stickers is completely free, but if that changes with future updates, you can always use a different app, such as Sticker Maker for WhatsApp, to get the job done easily.
