How much snow did the Green Bay area get Dec. 9 and 10?

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, 4-5 inches of snow fell in the Green Bay area on the night of December 9 and the morning of December 10.

NWS Green Bay meteorologist Kurt Kotenberg described the storm as a typical low-end winter storm expected to be the second part of a three-act weather system bringing snow and sub-zero temperatures to northeastern Wisconsin.

Kotenberg said the storm dropped 4-5 inches of snow in Brown County, with 5 inches of snow falling at the NWS Green Bay office and 4.5 inches in Wrightstown as of 10 a.m.

The weather is causing closures and delays at several schools in the area.

Kotenberg said the area has already experienced most of the storm and he doesn’t expect more snow on Dec. 10. However, Kotenberg said, be prepared for sub-freezing temperatures on December 13 and 14, as the weather service may issue a cold weather warning (temperatures are expected to be 20 degrees below zero) or an extreme cold warning (temperatures are expected to be 30 degrees below zero).

“We’re increasingly confident that wind chill values ​​Saturday morning and Sunday morning will be in the minus 20s to minus 25s,” Kotenberg said. “I’m not entirely convinced that daytime temperatures on Saturday will be above freezing yet.”

How much snow did it snow in Oconto County?

Snow accumulation in the Oconto County area ranged from 1 to 5 inches, Kotenberg said.

Snowfall decreased in northern Oconto County, with 2 inches in the mountains and 2.8 inches in Oconto Falls. Areas in southern Oconto County near Brown County saw more rain, with Chase receiving 5 inches, Kotenberg said.

How much snow did it snow in Door County?

Kotenberg said 1 to 3 inches of snow fell in Door County, with more in the southern part of the county.

Egg Harbor had 1.5 inches, Ephraim had 1.2 inches and Sturgeon Bay had 2.9 inches.

What’s the weather forecast like in Green Bay?

According to the National Weather Service Green Bay:

  • December 10: The highest level is 29 and the lowest is 7. Wind gusts could reach up to 28 mph during the day and up to 21 mph at night.

  • December 11: The maximum temperature is 20 degrees and the minimum temperature is 6 degrees. A chance of flurries after midnight.

  • December 12: The maximum temperature is 21 degrees and the minimum temperature is minus 2 degrees. 40% chance of snow, mainly after noon.

  • December 13: High 7, low -6.

  • December 14th: The highest temperature is 9 and the lowest temperature is minus 2. There is a 20% chance of snow after midnight.
