Rhode Island is in for another snowy weekend.
While 4 inches of snow were initially forecast, parts of the state saw up to 9 inches of snow during Saturday’s storm.
Although the snowpack has ended, Rhode Island is expected to continue to experience severe cold today and has issued a cold weather warning until 1 p.m. today.
“If precautions are not taken, wind chills as low as minus 15 degrees Celsius may cause hypothermia or frostbite,” the National Weather Service advised.
Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to warm up this week, but another midweek storm is on the way.
“The severe cold continues today into Monday, with slight improvements in temperatures on Tuesday. Another system moving in sometime midweek could bring snow showers to southern New England and even some rain near the South Coast, but uncertainty remains,” the National Weather Service forecast said.
