Honda Activa e With Swappable Batteries Launched in India: Features, Specifications

After months of speculation, the Honda Activa e electric scooter was launched in India on Wednesday. Developed specifically for the Indian market, taking into account consumer preferences and local characteristics, the Activa e marks the Japanese carmaker’s first foray into the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market. The electric vehicle is equipped with a replaceable battery pack and has a driving range of up to 102 kilometers. It also has connectivity features provided by the company’s RoadSync Duo suite, which enables users to make calls or toggle navigation via Bluetooth smartphone pairing.

Honda says the Activa e is a step in the right direction and in line with its plan to launch 30 electric models by 2030.

The Honda Activa e will go on sale in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai in spring 2025. It will also launch battery sharing service Honda e:Swap using Mobile Power Pack e in the above-mentioned Indian cities. The service will be operated by Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited.

The electric scooter is available in standard and synchronized dual versions in Pearl Fire Black, Pearl Light Blue, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matte Matte Silver Metallic and Pearl Matte White.

Honda Activa e Features, Specifications

Honda said its first electric personal commuter car in India uses in-wheel electric motors with a rated output of 4.2 kW, a maximum output of 6.0 kW and a peak torque of 22Nm. It comes with two replaceable battery packs rated at 1.5kWh and has a claimed maximum range of 102 kilometers.

Honda Activa e has Eco, Sport and Standard riding modes, with the Sport mode offering a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour (kmph). For convenience, the electric scooter also has a reverse mode.

Honda said its electric scooter borrows the name of its popular 110cc ICE model but features an all-new design. It comes with LED DRLs, LED headlights with turn indicators and alloy wheels with front disc brakes.

Apart from the Honda Activa e, the Japanese carmaker’s Indian unit also launched the QC1 – an electric scooter designed for short-distance commuting. It is equipped with a 1.5kWh battery pack and an in-wheel motor with a rated output of 1.2kW and a maximum output of 1.8kW. Its maximum range is said to be up to 80 kilometers.

Its other features include a 5-inch LCD instrument cluster, LED headlights, USB Type-C socket and under-seat luggage compartment.
