Hezbollah Secretary-General Naeem Qasim accused Lebanon of inaction over reports of the kidnapping of former military officer Ahmed Shukr and reiterated Hezbollah’s refusal to disarm.
Hezbollah Secretary-General Naeem Qasim has condemned the Lebanese government’s lack of action over the apparent kidnapping of former senior security official Ahmed Shoukr.
Qasim’s remarks came in a speech shared on Sunday by Al Mayadeen, a media outlet linked to the terror group.
“What is the government’s position regarding the recent abduction of retired military officer Ahmed Shukr in the Zahle region?” he asked.

Qasim: Disarmament is a ‘US-Israeli project’, Hezbollah will not give up weapons
Qasim reiterated his view that disarmament is a joint project of the United States and Israel, and that Hezbollah’s “resistance” and Lebanon abide by the agreement reached under the terms of the ceasefire, while Israel continues to violate the agreement.
Raising the issue of disarmament while “Israeli aggression” continues “is tantamount to serving Israel’s interests,” he added.
He went on to say that the goal of the United States and Israel is to “eliminate resistance.”
He also blamed all the problems facing Lebanon on “the brutal enemies of the United States and Israel.”
Qasim added that any attempt to pressure the terror groups would not change their stance.
“Do your best to cooperate with God’s most cruel creation, but we will not back down, we will not surrender and we will defend our rights,” he said.
He stressed that Hezbollah will “persevere and achieve its goals, even if it takes time.”
