The Hershey Co.-owned brand recently launched popcorn containing dairy, but the product is now off the shelves due to allergen concerns.
SkinnyPop is removing white cheddar popcorn from stores due to allergy concerns
“The decision to remove this product was made out of an abundance of caution, as dairy-containing and dairy-free white cheddar popcorn varieties have similar packaging and may cause confusion at retail or at home,” the company said in a news release.

SkinnyPop White Cheddar has an accurate ingredient list and appropriate allergen warnings, but there is concern that the packaging’s similarity to the dairy-free SkinnyPop variety may lead people with allergies or sensitivities to mistakenly purchase or eat the popcorn.
If you’ve purchased white cheddar popcorn and don’t have a milk allergy or sensitivity, the popcorn is safe to eat. However, those with a milk allergy who have inadvertently purchased SkinnyPop White Cheddar Popcorn, which contains dairy, should not eat it.
