The Christmas and New Year’s holidays bring changes to trash collection in the Jacksonville area.

The following is the City of Jacksonville’s solid waste collection schedule:
Christmas (Thursday, 12/25) – Will be collected on Saturday, 12/27.
New Year – No collection changes.
Household Hazardous Waste Facility Holiday Schedule:
Christmas Eve (Wednesday, 12/24) – Closed
Christmas Day (Thursday, December 28) – Closed
New Year’s Day – Break

Here is Clay County’s garbage collection schedule:
There will be no garbage or yard waste collection on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Residents who pick up on Thursday will receive service on Friday, and residents who pick up on Friday will receive service on Saturday.
The Mount Rosemary Solid Waste Management Facility and our Environmental Convenience Center will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
The administrative offices will close at 2pm on December 24th and will remain closed over the Christmas period. It will also close at 2pm on December 31 and remain closed on New Year’s Day.

The following is the solid waste collection schedule for St. Johns County:
Christmas holidays
In observance of the Christmas holidays, St. Johns County Solid Waste Division offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26. Standard business hours will resume on Monday, December 29th.
Trash, recycling and yard waste will not be collected on Thursday, December 25th. Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road solid waste scale houses will be closed.
From December 26, collections will be delayed by one day and all routes will be completed by Saturday, December 27.
Scale House will resume standard business hours on Friday, December 26th.

In observance of the New Year’s holiday, the St. Johns County Solid Waste Division offices will be closed Thursday, January 1, and Friday, January 2. Standard business hours will resume on Monday, January 5th.
Trash, recycling and yard waste will not be collected on Thursday, January 1 Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road solid waste scale houses will be closed.
From January 2, collections will be delayed by one day and all routes will be completed by Saturday, January 3.
