For the first time all season, BYU finds itself outside the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Following last week’s losses to unranked UCF and West Virginia, the Cougars dropped to No. 1 outside Monday’s latest rankings with a combined 74 points from voters.

BYU opened the year ranked No. 8 in the preseason rankings and has remained in the top 25 every week since.
With the end of the 2024-25 season in mind, the Cougars had been ranked in the polls 21 times in a row before Monday’s slide.
Five Big 12 teams appear in Monday’s poll: No. 2 Arizona, No. 6 Iowa State, No. 7 Houston, No. 10 Texas Tech and No. 14 Kansas. UCF and TCU both also received votes.
Former Cougars head coach Mark Pope and his Kentucky team finished one spot outside the top 25 behind BYU, while Utah State received 10 points from voters.
BYU will travel to Cincinnati on Tuesday before returning to Provo for the regular season finale against Texas Tech.
