Dec. 5—The Libby Greenchain wrestling team kicks off the 2025-26 season this weekend at the Owen Invitational in Polson.
The Green Chain returns a state medalist in senior Boe Miles and several other conference medalists.

“We have a great group and we have some great underclassmen,” head coach Dean Thompson said. “Our little guy program really helped the varsity team and we nearly doubled our numbers in every weight class.”
Thompson likes the potential of Myers, Bridger Budge, Ian Thome, Jeremiah Thomas and Tanner Wolfe to compete deeply in the playoffs.
The Green Chain will have female wrestlers for the first time. They include senior Isabella Barnes, junior Megan Connelly and freshman Lily Harcourt.
“The girls have worked hard and we’ve been able to incorporate them into our practices, so it’s been going well,” Thompson said. “Connelly wrestled in Alaska, so she has quite a bit of experience.”

The Green Chain won’t play a home game until Saturday, January 24, when they host the Libby Championship. Wrestling will begin at 10 a.m. with Bigfork, Browning, Frenchtown and Hamilton joining the Green Chain.
