Good News from Pima County Sheriff’s Department

The manhunt for Nancy Guthrie continued on Friday, March 6, with the investigation entering its 34th day and no suspects identified.

NBC “Today” host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared from her residence in Tucson, Arizona on February 1. Officials believe she was taken against her will and an investigation into her appearance is ongoing.

Now, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is sharing good news that, while not directly related to Nancy Guthrie’s abduction, provides hope.

On Friday, March 6, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department shared the good news in a post that an 89-year-old resident named Beverley DuBois had been found.

According to the department’s research, DuBois went missing on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 p.m. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt and slippers.

Now, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department reports she is back home safely. So while this is not directly related to the Nancy Guthrie case, it does provide a glimmer of hope for missing people in the area being found.

Nancy Guthrie Glove DNA: Lead Won’t Make the Difference

As the search for Nancy Guthrie continues, a lead that seemed promising earlier this week has failed. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said DNA on a glove found near the scene was traced to someone who worked at a nearby restaurant and was “not relevant to the case.”

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told Tucson news station KVOA: “We found out that the owner of the gloves worked at a restaurant across the street. That has nothing to do with this case.”

Nanos added in the interview: “We knew then, we believed wholeheartedly that these gloves belonged to a restaurant, and guess what? We found out that the owner of the gloves worked at a restaurant across the street.”

The Sheriff’s Department also informed X on March 4 that this individual “is not participating in this investigation.”

Officials previously said the gloves looked similar to those worn by a man the FBI said was a suspect in the case after being caught on surveillance video at Nancy Guthrie’s home. On February 13, authorities sent the gloves to a private laboratory in Florida for testing, and DNA analysis results came out this week showing the gloves were not related to the case.
