German NT coach Julian Nagelsmann talks national team debutant Lennart Karl

Lennart Karl has been called up to the senior German national team for the first time, allowing him to skip some games at youth level. Current national team coach and former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann talks about his recent experience joining the NT squad.

“I hope he will bring youthful energy to the pitch. He likes to play centrally, but we also plan to use him on the right,” Nagelsmann said (captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “However, I will not put any pressure on him to perform miracles. He should show the qualities of a young player and play with freedom and heart, just like he did at Bayern.”

Karl, who just turned 18, has impressed the Bavarians since his breakthrough earlier this season. Aside from an unfortunate comment from Alexander Plath and a doomed thumbs up, Carr’s future looks bright.
