Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025: Broadcast Time and How to Watch

Gamescom Opening Night Live will mark the start of Gamescom 2025, where developers and publishers from around the world will showcase their games. The opening showcase is live-streamed the night before the trade show kicks off each year, showcasing new game announcements, trailers, gameplay demonstrations, and more. The Gamescom Opening Night Live will be broadcast live on Tuesday 19th August and will be hosted by Geoff Keighley.

The Gamescom opening night broadcast will be broadcast live from Cologne, Germany on August 19 at 8pm CEST (11:30pm IST). The live event will also be streamed digitally on the official YouTube and Twitch channels of Gamescom and The Game Awards. You can also watch it on the official Gamescom website and in the live stream embedded after the show starts.

Gamescom opening night live details

The opening night live will be preceded by a preview performance, which will start at 7.30pm CEST (11pm IST). The main show is expected to last two hours. Gamescom Opening Night Live promises new game announcements, trailers and gameplay showcases, chats with guests, sneak peeks at other Gamescom events, and more.

Keighley has already confirmed a number of upcoming games that will be unveiled at the show, including Ghost of Yotsuba, Ninja Gaiden 4, The Outer Worlds 2, Resident Evil Requiem, and Silent Hill. Game Science, the developer of CI Games’ The Lords of the Fallen 2 and Black Myth Wukong, has also confirmed that it will participate in the opening show. Keighley also revealed that the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silk Song will be unveiled during the event. The action-platformer may finally reveal a release date at Opening Night Live.

Microsoft and Activision Blizzard have confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be revealed to the world at Gamescom’s opening night live on Tuesday. The Xbox parent company will host its own livestream at Gamescom on August 20th and August 21st. Xbox will play more than 20 games at the event, including Hollow Knight: Silk Song. The company will also allow players to get hands-on with the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handheld devices during Gamescom.
