During this period, Dix averaged 16.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field, 45.8% from three-point range (11-for-24), and 7-for-7 from the free throw line. Against the University of Connecticut, he scored a team-high 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting and 3-of-4 three-pointers, defeating the Huskies on the road. Can he continue to fight the Red Storm?

[Bill Murray voice] Well, it’s Johannes Day again.: The Red Storm have remained undefeated since St. John’s began promoting a home game each February in a school pride event called “Johannes Day.” They have won the past two Johnny Days games against Creighton, who has been ranked each time. Zubie Ejiofor was the only returning Johnny player to make last year’s Johnny Day scoring list, scoring 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the team’s 79-73 victory. He’s likely to post similar statistics on Saturday, as he leads St. John’s in points per game (16.0), rebounds per game (7.3) and assists per game (3.5).

The garden of Fujian Study Room: A very peculiar shooting disparity has emerged at St. John’s. When they played road and neutral-site games, they shot 37.8 percent from three, ranking in the 92nd percentile among Division I teams all season. However, when they played in the supposedly friendly venue of Madison Square Garden, they shot 28.5 percent from three, which would rank them third among Division I teams.
