Fox Contributor Claims U.S. Citizenship Is ‘Not a Right’ Before Immediately Referring To It As a Right

Fox News Contributor Nicole Parker Thursday claimed that U.S. citizenship “is not a right,” then immediately called it one in the following sentence.

Parker joins Hannity Discuss Thursday’s shooting at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, which left one person dead and two others injured. Authorities said the incident was being investigated as an act of terrorism. The shooter was identified as Mohammed Jallow, Pled guilty in 2017 to attempting to provide material services to the Islamic State, a designated terrorist organization.

Jallow, who was killed in the attack, was a naturalized U.S. citizen. He came to the United States as a child, a refugee fleeing Sierra Leone during its civil war in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Parker claims his attack, along with others, forms part of a pattern of violence by naturalized citizens stemming from the former president’s “open southern border” Joe Biden.

“When the southern border was open for four years, they literally welcomed people with the red carpet treatment and allowed all these people to flood into our country, and we’re talking about millions of people, Sean, many of whom were considered terrorists or associated with terrorists,” Parker said.

She cited a series of incidents, including Thursday’s attack on a Michigan synagogue by a U.S. citizen from Lebanon, saying they raised questions about who is allowed into the United States.

Parker later told the Fox News host Sean Hannity Citizenship itself “is not a right.” In the following sentence, she claimed that individuals should be deported from the United States if they “do not respect this right.”

“Who are we letting into our country? That’s why we need to get funding to the Department of Homeland Security as quickly as possible,” Parker said. “These people shouldn’t be here. Being an American citizen is a privilege. It’s not a right. If you don’t respect that right and respect others, and you’re going to harm American citizens, then you must be deported from our country immediately.”
