Haywood spent his freshman season at Michigan, and the promising offensive lineman played in just three games for the Wolverines in 2025.

The former coveted prospect was originally scheduled to head to Alabama from July 2024 to January 2025 and eventually to Michigan State, and the Tide could run in Haywood again in the near future. A former four-star recruit, the freshman is considered one of the top offensive linemen in the 2025 class and his emergence will provide an immediate boost to the Crimson Tide’s offensive line in 2026 and beyond.

Haywood is ranked No. 6 among offensive tackles in the class of 2025 and No. 39 overall player, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. It’s possible that Alabama once again becomes the top landing spot for the star tackle, as the former Wolverine will undoubtedly receive a lot of attention from various programs across the country.

Alabama lost numerous players on both sides of the football this offseason to the NFL Draft and transfer portal, but adding a player like Haywood could be an immediate game-changer.
