The 2026 college football transfer portal does not open until January 2, but several athletes have already announced their intention to find new homes.
Locally, Cal quarterback Brendan Sorsby is leaving the Bearcats for the transfer portal and should fetch a big payday elsewhere.

Several other former Cincinnati high school football players are heading to the portal to find new college housing.
Below is a list of some former local college standouts.

Noah King (Colorado)
King is a top-15 player in Ohio State’s class of 2025. He began his career last spring at Kansas State but entered the transfer portal after spring ball.
King joined Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes as an undergraduate transfer and redshirted. This is his second time entering the portal.
King is a four-star defensive back in Hamilton who has helped the Big Blue make the playoffs in 2024, according to 247Sports. He initially had a dozen Division I offers before heading to Kansas, including offers from Nebraska, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Brody Foley, Tulsa
Foley, a former Anderson High School standout, announced on social media on Dec. 11 that he would enter the transfer portal for the second time in his college career.
Former Anderson High standout Brodie Foley (80) had 37 catches at Tulsa in 2025.
Foley played 20 games for Indiana University over the past two seasons before joining Tulsa. This season, the 6-foot-6, 260-pound tight end has 37 catches for 528 yards and seven touchdowns.
Foley was a first-team All-Ohio selection for Anderson’s defense in 2021 and is the nation’s No. 12 tight end in the class of 2022, according to 247Sports. Foley had 38 receptions for 362 yards and six touchdowns with the Raptors.

Brogan McCoy, Yale University
Former St. Xavier quarterback McCoy announced on social media that he will enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining.
Brogan McCaughey (15) led St. Xavier to the Division I state championship in 2020.
McCoy led St. Xavier’s to the school’s fourth state football championship in 2020. He is a three-star recruit in the Class of 2022 who spent three seasons at Yale. In 2024, he appeared in two games, throwing for 389 yards and two touchdowns.
Iris Rosemond, St. Francis
Rosemond announced on social media on Dec. 5 that he would enter the transfer portal after spending one season at St. Francis. He initially enlisted in July 2024.

He is a three-star defensive back in Princeton’s class of 2025. He received 13 original offers, including several suitors from the MAC.
Jaire Brown, UCF
Brown moved to Cincinnati from New Orleans during his junior year and became one of Ohio State’s top recruits at Lakota West. Brown is a four-star recruit in the 2022 class
Jyaire Brown (15) was one of the top recruits in Ohio while playing at Lakota West. He spent two seasons at Ohio State, one at LSU and the most recent season at UCLA.
He spent two seasons at Ohio State before transferring to LSU for the 2024 season before spending his final year at UCF. With the Cavaliers, he had seven tackles. On December 4 he announced that he would enter the transfer portal.
MJ Flowers, University of Connecticut
Flowers ran for 2,744 yards and 36 touchdowns at Colerrain, including 1,404 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior in 2021.

The 2022 rookie began his career at Eastern Illinois, where he had back-to-back seasons of 850 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2023-2024. He spent the season at UConn, running for 69 yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts.

Pierce Ayers, Wittenberg
Tim Maklem said Ayers, who set a Wittenberg record with 17 catches in a single game this season, will join the UC Bearcats next season.
Ayers had 59 receptions for 1,332 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior in Williamsburg in 2023. He also had 50 tackles, two forced fumbles and three interceptions to help lead Williamsburg to the conference title and playoff berth.
Samuel Ringer, Wabash
Ringer, a 6-foot outside linebacker, was a Class 4A East Central all-state player. He announced in November that he would enter the portal as a graduate transfer after three seasons at Wabash.
