Boston Red Sox infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa, who plays with the Toronto Blue Jays against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 World Series, commented on being thrown out at home in the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 7.
In Game 7, Keener-Falefa tied the game at third base, breaking home after Daulton Varsho hit a grounder off shortstop Miguel Rojas. Rojas drove the ball into the plate, beating Keena-Falefa within inches. The versatile man was criticized for his brief leadoff at third base, with many pointing to the moment as one of the most important of the series.

“After the game, there was no camera in my face,” Keena-Falefa said. “If this was a big deal, it would be nice to have a camera in my face and a chance to talk. It blew up without me getting a proper interview, so I don’t think it’s fair.”
The Dodgers won the game and series after Will Smith hit a go-ahead home run in extra innings, giving Los Angeles its second consecutive World Series title.

What other moments defined the World Series?
While the Keener-Falefa moment was notable on social media, it wasn’t the only reason the Dodgers won the World Series.
Los Angeles had many of its own moments in the Fall Classic, especially in Game 7. Rojas tied the game with his first homer in nearly two months in the top of the ninth, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto made his third appearance in the series just a day later after pitching a dizzying six innings in the previous game.

Yamamoto pitched a complete game earlier in the World Series, and Freddie Freeman hit a home run in the marathon Game 3. While home run performance will certainly impact the outcome of the series, the Dodgers did a lot to ensure they were even that far ahead.
Keena-Falefa is currently on a one-year contract with the Red Sox and will return in October with another AL East team.
