The father of a Florida high school student is speaking out this week after a teacher who allegedly tried to lure his daughter appeared in court to face charges.

The victim’s father, Yaniv Rosenberg, claimed that former teacher and football coach Colby Erskin sent his then-15-year-old daughter a nude selfie of himself and tried to groom her, NBC6 reported.

“From ‘Do you need help with math?’ to ‘You look cute,’ to sexual comments, to ‘Do you want to hang out?’ “Can I see you after the football game?” “Take nude photos of yourself,” Rosenberg said, according to the outlet.

“What should I say to my daughter?” Rosenberg asked. “Stay away from that damn scumbag.”

Rosenberg said Erskine was his daughter’s math teacher at South Plantation High School last year, WESH reported.

The school could not be reached for comment.

Erskine, 39, was charged with computer exploitation of a child and dissemination of harmful material to a minor. He was released on $250,000 bail and must now wear a GPS monitor, have no contact with the victim, use any internet devices and have no contact with any students or staff at South Plantation High School, according to the Broward State Attorney’s Office.

He was arrested by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, February 5, in Sanford, Florida, about 30 miles from Orlando, WESH, NBC Miami and Fox 25 reported.

According to media reports, Erskine was coaching football at Mount Dora High School in Lake County at the time of his arrest. NBC Miami reported that he coached at South Plantation High School.

Lake County Schools told the outlet Erskine was fired immediately after his arrest.

“Mr. Erskine was hired as our football coach less than a month ago and was terminated (Feb. 5) after we learned he had been arrested on a South Florida warrant for charges that did not involve any of our students,” the district said in a statement. Sports Illustrated.

“We are working with law enforcement and encourage anyone with anything to share about Mr. Erskine to come forward,” the district added.

PEOPLE reached out to the law firm representing Erskine, who said ongoing legal matters are “still in the early stages.”
