Our ball-savvy staff has announced who will make the Final Four team (except for one guy I was going to save for last, but he declined!) and who will hoist the trophy as the confetti rains down in Phoenix.

Here are our experts’ predictions:

University of Connecticut (Final Four: University of Connecticut, South Carolina, UCLA, Texas)

The four teams that made it to the Final Four last season will be back again. That said, I think it’s going to happen differently than it did in 2025. There will be a national championship rematch between South Carolina and UConn. Unfortunately, by the semi-finals, the result was still the same. For UConn, they will be back in the national championship game, but it won’t be South Carolina waiting for them. It will be UCLA. If there was ever a year that UCLA could prove it could win a national championship, it would be this year. The Bruins have a strong roster with six WNBA rookies, all of whom are having great seasons. That said, the Huskies have experience and a vaunted defense that rivals the 2025 championship squad. This is the best year in women’s college basketball history, and I fully expect head coach Geno Auriemma to deliver a coaching masterclass.

UCLA (Final Four: University of Connecticut, TCU, UCLA, University of Oregon)

I’ll be joining 2026 WNBA draft prospects Olivia Miles, Marta Suarez (TCU) and Azzi Fudd (UConn) in leading their teams to the Final Four in a surprise appearance by the Oregon Ducks. Then I get to win championships with soon-to-be pros like Lauren Betts, Kiki Rice, Gianna Kneepkens and Gabriela Jaquez at UCLA.

Brian Kalbrowski

South Carolina (Final Four: UConn, South Carolina, UCLA, Texas)

The Final Four is pretty bleak, but I don’t see these teams getting beat on the way to the Final Four. UConn has been unreal this year, but I think Dwayne Staley gets one from Geno Auriemma on his way to another ring this year. South Carolina is loaded with talent and has experienced players that can give you a chance. UCLA has senior talent and the Bates sisters, and I think that’s too much for Texas. The national championship will be unreal and another showcase for women’s basketball.

University of Connecticut (Final Four: University of Connecticut, South Carolina, LSU, Texas)

It’s hard to bet against a dominant UConn, especially with Azie Forde and Sarah Strong on the roster. They would complete an undefeated season and win another NCAA championship.
