Bethany Dent-Reynolds will be sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court in February

A female probation officer has admitted having a relationship with an inmate at a maximum security prison.

Bethany Dent-Reynolds, 27, had an “inappropriate” affair with Kieran Robinson while working at HMP Belmarsh in Woolwich, south-east London.

Dent-Reynolds, from Forest Hill, south-east London, admitted misconduct in a public office when he appeared at Woolwich Crown Court.

According to the charges, her misconduct amounted to an abuse of the public trust by “engaging in an inappropriate relationship with an inmate named Kieran Robinson between February 15, 2024, and May 3, 2024.”

The charges also state that she “caused the nDelius Record software to perform a function designed to secure unauthorized access to data saved on the computer.”

She denied a second charge of misconduct, alleging an “inappropriate romantic relationship with Kieran Robinson” between March 1, 2024, and April 20, 2024. The charge has been dropped.

Dent-Reynolds also dismissed a third charge alleging she caused a computer to “perform a function calculated to secure unauthorized access to programs or data in the computer or to cause any such access to be so protected” under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. The charge has been ordered filed.

Dent-Reynolds was granted unconditional bail ahead of sentencing at Woolwich Crown Court on February 6 next year.

Belmarsh is a maximum security prison that houses Southport killer Axel Rudakubana and Manchester bomb plotter Hashem Abedi.
