Falcons 1 of 12 NFL teams to host supersized WR prospect for workout

In a departure from their usual way of doing things, the Atlanta Falcons front office appears to be thinking local when it comes to NFL Draft prospects. They selected Georgia Bulldogs star edge rusher Ja’Lon Walker in the first round of last year’s draft, and they’ve been scouting several prospects from the state this year. For example, a new simulation from NFL.com shows them using No. 19 Georgia defensive tackle Christen Miller as an example.

Local flavor includes Georgia State’s oversized wide receiver Ted Hurst, who is listed at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds at the scout combine. Hurst listed the Falcons among the long list of teams he visited before the draft (12). Today he’ll visit the Miami Dolphins and then the Indianapolis Colts. Hurst’s schedule also includes the Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders. That’s NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reporting.
