Exclusive: Ray Parlor shares thoughts on €65m summer signing
It’s been a brilliant start to the season for Arsenal, who currently sit two points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
However, it’s not all plain sailing for everyone involved. Despite the team’s success, one of Arsenal’s stars has faced some question marks since joining in the summer.

That would be Victor Jakores, who joined the Gunners for €65 million but has looked frustrated at times this season.
Arsenal legend Ray Parlor spoke exclusively to EPL Index and shared his thoughts on the striker…
Parlor supports Gyokeres’ success
The Swedish striker scored his fifth goal of the season from the penalty spot in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Everton. But many still question his tactical fit in Mikel Arteta’s side, but Parlor remains confident in the 27-year-old.
“As a striker, it’s always difficult to go into a new league and a new team,” Parlor began. “Even with Henry and Bergkamp, they need 10-15 games to start, and we all know how that is!”

Parlor continued: “Jo Kreis has scored a few goals, almost scored a few times and his movements are only getting better. The injury hasn’t helped, but now he’s fully fit and hopefully he can continue to play.”
“He looks confident and Arsenal need to play to his strengths, but at the same time he’s getting the best out of the players around him,” Parlor said.
Looking to the future
With Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz both returning from long-term injuries, the race for ninth place is fiercer than ever. Mikel Merino’s recent stellar performances in the position haven’t helped Gyokeres either.

However, with City closing in on the top of the table, it’s now time to prove his worth to Joe Kreis.
“It’s a long season and we’re in a good position in all the games so I’m sure he’s going to score a lot of key goals,” Parlor concluded.
