Michail Antonio has held preliminary talks with Championship club Charlton Athletic over a potential return to domestic football following his near-fatal car crash.
Antonio, 35, has not played a competitive match in England since a well-documented accident in December 2024 that left the 35-year-old with multiple fractures to his leg.

In June last year, he represented Jamaica in the CONCACAF Gold Cup after recovering, but was fired by West Ham United before the start of this season.
Antonio was in talks with Brentford and Leicester City over proposed moves, but those deals never materialized.
But BBC Sport understands Antonio has held early discussions with Charlton over a potential short-term deal.
Nothing has been finalized yet and discussions are said to be at an exploratory stage, but it is understood Addicks boss Nathan Jones believes Antonio can bring value to his side between now and the end of the season.
In an exclusive interview with the BBC in March 2025, the striker said he felt “on the verge of death” following his car crash in Essex and believed he had been given “another chance at life”.

“I broke my femur in four different places,” he said.
“I had keyhole surgery. They put a pole with four bolts in my thigh and then used screws and bolts to sew it back together.
“My first surgeon said he didn’t want me to put any weight on my leg for three months, which is about now, and you can see me walking.
“We went to a second specialist who said I needed to start gaining weight, going from 10 per cent to 100 per cent in three weeks.
“But I kept the crutches for another two weeks. Overall, they said it would take six to 12 months for my leg to start healing properly.”
