A passerby noticed an unexpected passenger peering out the window of a parked Tesla – it was a puppy. While such a sight is often worrisome, Tesla’s unique features put them at ease.
“Found the cutest fluff,” one Facebook user shared in the Dogspotting group. The Tesla’s touchscreen read “My driver will be back soon” and showed the electric car’s internal temperature at 22 degrees Celsius (about 72 degrees Fahrenheit).

While leaving pets in your car may not seem dangerous, temperatures can rise quickly, especially on hot days. Analysis by Total.vet found that most heat-related pet deaths are caused by animal owners trapping them in hot cars.
As a result, California and other states have laws allowing rescues under certain conditions. However, if the vehicle is operated remotely, this may result in unnecessary glass breakage, keeping pets in a safe and comfortable environment.
Tesla’s “Dog Mode” neatly clears up potential misunderstandings. Other Facebook users were impressed by the adorable display.
“This is one of the reasons I want a Tesla!” one commenter shared.
“Omg Tesla features. I hate them but I would buy it just for my dog,” said another.
The fact that this Facebook post is a few years old proves that Tesla has been a polarizing brand over the years. Anti-EV sentiment fueled by misinformation played a role, while CEO Elon Musk’s political activity and social media feuding made the company a lightning rod for criticism in 2025, even leading to sales slumps in major markets.
But more broadly, demand for electric vehicles remains strong.
Tesla even set a record for vehicle deliveries in the third quarter as consumers scrambled to take advantage of expiring U.S. electric vehicle tax credits

Gasoline-powered cars emit toxic pollutants that contribute to millions of premature deaths each year, not to mention an overheating planet that makes things even more dangerous for humans and pets, while electric cars emit zero tailpipe emissions.
Meanwhile, another Facebook user said they would like to see similar features on other vehicles. Fortunately, multiple manufacturers have launched their own versions of Dog Mode, giving many consumers another reason to make their next car electric.
“Every car should have this option. So cool!” the user exclaimed.
