Employee attacked with ‘bear spray’ at Lansing fast food restaurant

LANSING — Police are investigating a report that a fast-food restaurant employee was sprayed with a substance by someone driving through the drive-thru.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, at the KFC store on South Martin Luther King Boulevard, north of West Holmes Road.

The 18-year-old man was hit in the face with “bear spray,” but police are not sure what the substance was, Lansing Police Public Information Director Jordan Gulkis said.

She said police do not believe the incident was a random attack.

Police were unable to obtain a description of the vehicle and no arrests were made, Gurkis said.
